Barcelona are 'dreaming' of signing Tottenham defender Pedro Porro, according to reports in Spain.
Porro, 27, who joined Spurs from Sporting CP for £41million in January 2023, has four-and-a-half years left on his contract in north London, having signed a bumper new deal in the summer. During his time at Tottenham, the Spaniard has made 158 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 26 assists, and is a crucial member of Roberto De Zerbi's squad.
But, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are keen on Porro and have made him a 'dream' target for the right-back position. The La Liga side want him to re-unite with Lamine Yamal on that side, with the duo forming a strong partnership in the Spain national team.
Hansi Flick's side are aware that it's 'unlikely' they can sign him in January, but they aren't closing the door on a winter move. Mundo add that if an opportunity were to arise, then Barcelona would pounce on it.
Tottenham value Porro at around £60million but Barca would want to drive the price down given their financial situation. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are among the others keeping a close eye on Porro's future at Tottenham.
Last week, Porro admitted he would "love" to return to Spain at some point, having spent time at Girona and Real Valladolid earlier in his career. “Obviously, I’d love to return to Spain someday," he said.
"It’s my country, and I like the league. Right now, it would be very unfair to talk about anything other than my club because I’m under contract, but obviously, I’d love to go back to Spain; it’s a big dream of mine.”
It's imperative that Tottenham keep Porro at the club, despite interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, if they want to return to the Champions League, at least, next season. Although he has been in and out of the side this season due to injuries and fitness issues, he is still one of Tottenham's most important players, and integral for De Zerbi.
Archie Gray has done a stellar job filling in, and even scored the opener in the 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, but he doesn't possess the same level of control and ability to both make a line-breaking pass and deliver an inch-perfect on-point cross.
Gray is a work-horse and is arguably a better one-v-one defender than Porro, but Tottenham are a much more complete side and can offer more from an attacking perspective when Porro is on the pitch.
Who got more assists?

Although Spurs could dip into the market to replace Porro, there isn't many like him. Trent Alexander-Arnold, one of the best defenders in world football, is a similar mould, but a move for him to leave Real Madrid and move to Tottenham would be doubtful.
Therefore, Tottenham have to keep Porro - even if they bid more than his valuation - as he is their best right-back and gives them so much more than that. His attacking potential is so crucial, having contributed to 39 goals in three-and-a-half years, as well his ability to drive up the pitch and control matches from his position.
