High school football rankings: Major upsets shake up USA TODAY Sports Super 25

With the regular season coming to an end in many states and the postseason already here for some, the most important time of the high school football season has officially arrived as the calendar turns from October to November.

Teams in the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings have experienced their fair share of headline-grabbing drama the last few weeks, and Week 11 was no different as two new teams joined the fray following a couple of upsets.

Not only did we see two upsets, we saw two of the longest winning streaks in the country come to an end featuring the two teams we thought were the best in Oklahoma and Louisiana.

For the Sooner State, the battle between the state's top two programs turned into a defensive slugfest. In the end it was Broken Arrow coming out on top 17-14 ending Bixby's 24-game win streak.

The Louisiana matchup was not as close as St. Augustine (LA). Not only did St. Augustine (LA) beat Edna Karr (LA), but the Purple Knights also crushed the Cougars 52-14, ending what was a 35-game win streak.

Out west, the game of the week and maybe the comeback of the year happened in California as Mater Dei (CA) clawed its way back from a two-score deficit in the final few minutes and scored a last-minute touchdown and two-point conversion to beat St. John Bosco.

Those were the three biggest games, but they weren't the only notable matchups in the Super 25. See the full Super 25 Week 12 football rankings below.
