Mikel Arteta has admitted that Bukayo Saka will miss the next four Arsenal matches at the very least. The 25-year-old suffered a quad injury in the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich which has ruled him out until the November international break, but the issue could see him absent until Christmas if the worst fears are to be believed.
Inside just 10 minutes of their European clash in Germany, Saka was hauled off after feeling something in the top of his leg. Arteta admitted he was concerned immediately after the game and confirmed less than 48 hours later that Saka was going for a scan.
Ahead of the Premier League clash against Everton, Arteta was able to offer a potential timeline for his return having seen the results of his tests. He said: "I think it will be weeks, the extent of the injury, I think we're going to have to repeat the scans in a week, ten days to see the extent of that."
While not completely clear, Arteta's comments suggest Saka will miss at least two weeks which would see him absent until the November international break.
Arsenal take on Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup, Slavia Prague in the Champions League and have Premier League matches against Liverpool and Hull City over the next fortnight.

There is also no guarantee that Saka is back after the two-week domestic pause with Arteta having also revealed that more scans will be taking place later this month.
The latest reports have claimed the Gunners winger could be on the sidelines for up to eight weeks. If the worst-case scenario plays out, Saka would also miss Premier League games against Newcastle United, Manchester City, Brentford, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Manchester United.
During the upcoming two-month period, Champions League clashes with Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid will also take place. In addition to the four matches he has already been ruled out of, that is a further eight fixtures Saka could miss.
If Arteta's side get past Fleetwood Town next Tuesday, Saka would also likely be unavailable for a Carabao Cup fifth round tie. The Premier League champions will be hoping Saka does not miss every game until Christmas, particularly given the busy schedule and options available to Arteta.
With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard sold in the summer and Christos Tzolis still injured, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze are the only senior wingers available. Academy graduate Max Dowman could therefore be set for more minutes in the first team.
Arteta has at least been handed injury boosts in midfield and defence with Martin Zubimendi and Piero Hincapie as recent returners. William Saliba is still some way of featuring, however, with Arsenal carefully managing his return from a back problem.
