Steven Borden has opened up about the scary concussion he suffered at AEW All Out 2026. He revealed that he was knocked unconscious during the match and had to wait for medical clearance before returning to the ring.

Borden teamed up with Darby Allin to face Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight at the September 26 pay-per-view. However, the match took a turn after Borden suffered a head injury during a mid-air collision involving a top-rope spot.

Although he has since recovered and returned to the ring, the wrestler recently shared more details about what happened.

Steven Borden discusses the injury that left him unconscious at AEW All Out

Speaking to First Coast News ahead of AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts, Borden confirmed that he suffered a concussion and was unconscious for some time during the match.

“It feels great to be back. So I got concussed, and I was knocked out for a little bit,” Borden said.

However, Darby Allin quickly corrected his tag team partner about how long he was unconscious.

“A little bit? You were snoring for six minutes straight. I was there in the ring. We had to stop the match live on pay-per-view. Stop the match and he’s out there snoring and I was like, ‘Steven?’ It wasn’t a little bit,” Allin recalled.

Allin’s words reflected how scary the situation was for everyone involved. Steven Borden then explained why recovering from the concussion was a strange experience for him.

With physical injuries like a torn ligament, wrestlers usually know right away that they cannot compete. However, Borden felt completely fine while recovering from his concussion. This made staying away from the ring even more frustrating, as he wanted to return but had to wait for medical clearance.

“It’s weird though. With injuries, you’re sidelined. Normally, you can feel it. You tore something in your knee or whatever, and so you know as much as you wanna get back in the action, you can’t. But for me, I felt fine. So it’s just this weird thing of, like, I wanted to be back out there, but I couldn’t. And now that I’m back, it feels pretty dang good,” he explained.

Borden eventually returned on the October 21 episode of AEW Dynamite.
