West Ham have announced they have sacked manager Nuno Espirito Santo. The Championship side have slipped down the table to 8th place after suffering back-to-back defeats at home against Southampton and West Brom.
Nuno's last match in charge against the Baggies ended in a 3-1 defeat, as the Hammers struggle for form since dropping down to the second-tier last season. Expected to bounce straight back up to the Premier League, West Ham have won just six of their 13 league matches.
The Portuguese boss took charge of the club in September 2025 following the sacking of Graham Potter, but he was unable to keep the club in the top-flight.

West Ham announced his departure in a statement that reads: "West Ham United can confirm that men’s first-team Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo has left his position with immediate effect.
"Following a thorough review of the start to the EFL Championship season, the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary at this time in order to ensure that the Club’s objectives and expectations remain on track.
"Assistant Head Coach Rui Pedro Silva and Goalkeeper Coach Rui Barbosa have also departed.
"West Ham United would like to thank Nuno, Rui and Rui for their hard work and commitment during their time at the Club, and wish them all the very best for the future.
"The process of recruiting a new Head Coach is already underway.
"Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge of squad preparations ahead of tomorrow evening’s EFL Championship fixture at Cardiff City, and the Club will make no further comment until the appointment of the new Head Coach is confirmed."
Nuno's future at West Ham was in doubt just months after arriving at the club, but the board decided not to sack him in January, and hoped the former Wolves, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest boss could keep them up.
However, West Ham were relegated on the final day of last season despite amassing 39 points.
The club issued a statement confirming that Nuno would remain as manager just days after the relegation, but following a frustrating start to the campaign, the 52-year-old has been sacked.
