Matheus Cunha and Michael Carrick appeared to exchange words at half time(Image: Amazon Prime)
Matheus Cunha and Michael Carrick appeared to exchange words after Manchester United's dramatic win over Roma. Cunha was the hero for the Reds as two late goals in three minutes helped the Reds secure a 3-2 victory over the Italians in the Champions League.
After the Brazilian scored the winner, he took his shirt off and jumped into the jubilant United fans in celebration, receiving a yellow card in the process. Not long after, he received a second yellow and a subsequent red for a late challenge on a Roma star.
When the final whistle went, Cunha wanted to join in with the celebrations, but was quickly seen by Carrick. After their short exchange, the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers forward seemingly became upset before heading towards the Old Trafford tunnel.

It's unclear as to why the Brazilian appeared to grow angry after his brief exchange with the United boss. However, Cunha ensured he stopped to applaud the jubilant home fans before heading down the tunnel.
While it's unclear as to what Carrick and Cunha said, it's possible the United manager urged the Brazilian to return to the dressing room to avoid receiving further punishment. Players who receive a red card usually have to remain in the dressing room until the officials have left the pitch.
Under IFAB Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct), a red-carded player who enters the pitch immediately after full-time, whether to celebrate with team-mates or argue with officials, it can be classed as an unauthorised pitch entry and misconduct.

Either way, it will not rain on United's parade, after a torrid run of results. United were poor in the opening 45 minutes and were deservedly behind 2-0 at half time, after Matias Soule and Donyell Malen gave the Serie A side a 2-0 lead.
