The Arizona Cardinals could be getting offensive line help this week. Guard Isaiah Adams, the Cardinals' starting right guard, was designated to return to practice from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window for him to be able to practice and to be activated.
Adams was placed on injured reserve in Week 5 after suffering an ankle injury in Week against the New York Giants.
In his first practice back, he was a limited participant.
His return is welcome. Jon Gaines replaced him in the lineup, but he suffered knee and ankle injuries that kept him out of the last two games, so Hayden Conner started at right guard in his stead.
Adams missed Week 1 with a knee injury and then started three games before injuring his ankle.
Things line up for him to be activated this week. The Cardinals placed two players — running back Jeremiyah Love and receiver Kendrick Bourne — on IR this week, but they filled only one of the roster spots, signing receiver Harrison Wallace to the active roster from the practice squad.
He must be activated by the conclusion of the 21-day window, or he reverts to IR for the rest of the season.
