Bralen Trice lands new NFL opportunity with Las Vegas Raiders

Bralen Trice has landed a new NFL opportunity after being let go by the team that drafted him.

Trice, who played at Washington from 2019-23, was cut by the Atlanta Falcons on October 20 after three seasons with the team. He was Atlanta's third-round draft choice in 2024, but tore his ACL in his first preseason game and missed his entire rookie season. He reaggravated that same knee injury in 2025 and spent all of that season on injured reserve as well.

Finally healthy this season, Trice was among Atlanta's final roster cuts but was elevated from the Falcons practice squad three times - the maximum amount allowed per season - in Weeks 1, 3, and 5. That forced the Falcons to sign him to their active roster in order to play in Week 6, a 31-23 loss to the Chicago Bears, but he was waived three days later when Atlanta signed edge rusher Charles Snowden off the practice squad of the Washington Commanders.

Trice landed a workout with the San Francisco 49ers late last week, but it didn't amount to a contract. Instead, Trice worked out for and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, joining them on a practice squad contract to continue his NFL career.

A breakout star as a redshirt junior in 2022, Trice was a two-time All-Pac-12 First Team selection and was named to the Associated Press' Third Team All-America as a redshirt senior in 2023. The Arizona native led all Washington players with 9 sacks in 2022, finishing with 18 for his career, and recorded 101 total tackles, 2 pass deflections, a forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries during his time on Montlake. In his final season, Trice was defensive MVP of the Sugar Bowl against Texas, logging 5 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery to help lead the Huskies to the national championship game.

In four games with Atlanta, now led by Trice's UW teammate Michael Penix Jr. at quarterback, Trice had 2 tackles and a pass deflection.

Trice is now the only player from Washington on the Raiders, but he joins six other Husky alums in the AFC West: running back Jonah Coleman, safety Taylor Rapp, and center Luke Wattenberg are on the Denver Broncos; wide receiver Omari Evans is with the Kansas City Chiefs, and quarterback Jake Browning and safety Elijah Molden play for the Los Angeles Chargers.
