Cambridge Volleyball Club celebrates four victories across first weekend of new National Volleyball League season

Cambridge Volleyball Club’s three women’s squads enjoyed a positive opening weekend to the new National League season.

In NVL Division 1 North, Cambridge’s first team made the long trip to face Manchester Marvels, whom they got the better of to run out 3-0 victors.

Meanwhile, in the NVL Division 2 Central, Juliana Pallamin was the star player for Cambridge’s second team during their 3-1 triumph at the expense of Tamworth Spartans.

Elsewhere, the club’s brand new third team also made a very successful National League debut in Division 3 Central, winning both matches at a triangular event in Northampton.

The format involved three teams each playing the other two on the same day, and both of Cambridge’s contests were closely-fought affairs.

They started the afternoon by beating Nuneaton Flames 3-1, recovering from an early deficit in the fourth set to secure the win.

And that was followed by a clash with Northampton’s second team, which went the full five sets, with Cambridge winning 3-2 to complete an unbeaten opening weekend for all of the club’s women’s teams.
