Harry Kane hasn’t ruled out the possibility of playing in Spain someday, but the Bayern Munich striker made it clear that he has no regrets about his journey to Germany.
Kane was asked whether he would have liked to experience Spanish football during his career. The England international admitted that competing in La Liga would have been an appealing opportunity.
“I never really had the chance. Obviously I was at Tottenham a long, long time, and I was happy there, and then when this opportunity came to come to Bayern, it was something I wanted to do straight away,” Kane explained (via @iMiaSanMia).
The striker didn’t completely close the door on a future move to Spain, either.
“If the opportunity arose at the right time and it was right for me, then for sure, it would have been amazing to play in Spain and play in La Liga and compete against these players,” Kane added.
However, any speculation about a potential Spanish adventure needs to be balanced against his satisfaction with life at Bayern.
“Ultimately, everyone’s journey leads you to a certain place, and I’m really happy that mine led me to Bayern, because as you’ve seen, I’ve been extremely happy here,” Kane concluded.
So, while Kane clearly appreciates the appeal of experiencing Spanish football, his comments don’t suggest that he is looking for an escape route from Munich. If the right opportunity ever presented itself, he would be open to considering it, but for now, he sounds perfectly content with how his career has unfolded in Germany.
