Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is failing to hit a points target set by the Welsh club, as journalist Alan Nixon provides an update on his future.

Wrexham have been on a fairy-tale journey over the last few years, but they are struggling in the Championship this season.

They currently sit in eighth position in the Championship table, having lost three of their previous four games.

They missed out on the playoffs last season by just two points, but now finishing in the top half is even looking unlikely.

Wrexham have invested a huge amount of money into the playing squad in order to give Parkinson all the tools to gain promotion.

Unfortunately, they are not seeing a return on their investment at the moment, meaning the pressure is mounting on Parkinson.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Parkinson is under mounting pressure at Wrexham as he struggles to hit a points target set by the Welsh club.

Wrexham wanted to hit a set number of wins within their current run of games before making a decision on his future in November.

Wrexham have managed just one win since the beginning of October, and then we need a big run of wins very quickly before they decide whether to move on from him.

Parkinson is now showing frustration, and the players have been below par. There's no doubt he needs to turn things around quickly if he wants to keep his job.

The American ownership have been incredibly patient with him, considering the job he's done there, but it could be coming to an end if the results continue.

Wrexham's latest result saw them lose 1-0 away to Sheffield United, who were also battling in the bottom half of the table at the time.

It doesn't get much easier for Parkinson as they face Middlesbrough and Wolves in their next two games.
