Peter Cklamovski cautious after win keeps streak alive “It means nothing at the moment”

Peter Cklamovski spoke to reporters following Salford City’s eighth consecutive win against Exeter.

A stunning goal from defender Will Aimson secured the three points for the Ammies this weekend, coming back from a goal down to make it 11 games without a loss.

Speaking to reporters after the match about Aimson’s wonder goal, Salford City manager Peter Cklamovski said: “Some strike by Will for our winner. I was just talking to him after the game, and I was saying, don’t shoot, don’t shoot, don’t shoot. What a goal.

“Credit to him because he backed himself, and that’s what we kind of talk about. So, yeah, good shot and a great reward for the team.”

The win against Exeter has secured Salford City’s spot at the top of League Two along with the impressive undefeated run, but Cklamovski was cautious to look ahead: “We’ve got a nice bit of momentum, but don’t look too far forward. It’s whatever it is, eight wins in a row or 11 unbeaten; however you want to look at it, don’t look back.

“Think about where your feet are, and that’s where we are now. Take it one step forward and keep working hard.

“It means nothing at the moment. We’ve got to really just stay focused and look at the table at round 46″

He went a step further, commenting on the difficulty of League Two, saying: “We respect every opponent and we respect every week that we’ve got to get our preparation right. And that’s everything for us.

“If we take our eye off our process and our principles of getting the preparation right, we can quickly get away from it. So we’ll stay grounded and keep focused”

Salford City will return to league action against Northampton Town on November 14th, but before that, they play Carlisle in the first round of the FA Cup next Saturday.
