Irresistible Ebbsfleet turned on the style as they returned to the top of National League South on Tuesday.
The Fleet hit six goals at Farnborough as they bounced back from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Truro.
It was a one-sided game and the possession stats would surely be the most dominant of the season.
Ebbsfleet had all the possession in the opening stages but it was actually Farnborough that went closest after nine minutes when Josh Keeya sent a 30-yard shot just wide of the upright.
Ben Chapman’s cross along the six-yard box was not turned in before another Chapman delivery found Seaman at the far post but his shot was fumbled behind for a corner by keeper Liam Hall.
It proved a costly error as the resulting corner was delivered to the far post by Jake Vokins for Seaman to head home on 19 minutes.
Former Gillingham and Ebbsfleet defender Max Ehmer strode forward for Farnborough three minutes later and played in Andre Burley, whose cross-shot went wide of the far post.
Ebbsfleet were always in control but they didn’t have the goals to show for their dominance until they scored twice in a five-minute spell just before the break.
Keeper Matt Buse’s long ball over the top picked up the untracked run of Finlay Barnes and his delightful first touch set him up to slot past Hall.
Burley then halted Daniel Ogunleye’s run 25 yards from goal and was booked by referee Kai Morgan. Seaman delivered a more emphatic punishment by blasting the free-kick into the top corner to make it 3-0 on 43 minutes.
Farnborough’s Sam Barratt was also booked on the stroke of half-time for a crude challenge that reflected the frustration of a home side that had clearly not recovered from losing 5-0 at home to Horsham on Saturday.
That prompted a triple change at the break from the hosts and substitute Mason Bloomfield had a shot deflected behind for a corner inside the first 20 seconds.
But that was as good as it got for the hosts. Normal service was resumed on 53 minutes when Camron Gbadebo had the freedom of the penalty area to head home another Vokins corner for the Fleet’s fourth goal.
The fifth goal came just three minutes later. Gbadebo turned provider as his long diagonal found Barnes behind Burley and his first-time effort lobbed over stranded keeper Hall into an empty net.
The goals afforded Fleet boss Josh Wright the chance to make three changes of his own on the hour mark.
Seaman had one chance to claim his hat-trick but his final act was to send a long-range free-kick into the defensive wall before he came off with 14 minutes still to go.
With games on Saturday and Monday ahead, the Fleet rightly took their foot off the pedal in the closing stages, although boss Wright was demanding more right up to the full-time whistle.
The sixth goal arrived on 79 minutes when Chapman’s cross was touched down by Harvey Walker for fellow substitute Dominic Samuel to turn home.
