Celtic Fans Will Absolutely Love This Václav Černý Moment

An unseen moment involving former Rangers winger Václav Černý has caught the attention of Celtic supporters following Thursday night’s dramatic 3-2 Europa League victory over Beşiktaş.

But it was his reaction after Camilo Durán put Celtic 2-1 ahead that provided another talking point.

Footage circulating after the match appears to show Černý frustrated following the Colombian’s second-half strike.

Celtic supporters who remember the winger’s appearances for Rangers, the image added another moment to enjoy from a remarkable European night.

Černý was loudly booed whenever he touched the ball on Thursday.

His previous visit to Celtic Park with Rangers had caused controversy when he sprayed liquid towards Celtic supporters during a derby celebration in March 2025.

That incident had not been forgotten by sections of the home crowd.

The winger was also on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Liam Scales during the first half, drawing one of the loudest cheers of the evening.

However, Beşiktaş initially looked capable of taking the points.

Junior Olaitan put the visitors ahead in the 54th minute after following up his own penalty, which Sam Johnstone had saved.

Martin O’Neill changed the game by introducing Callum Osmand and Camilo Durán from the bench.

Osmand equalised with his first touch before setting up Durán to put Celtic ahead in the 78th minute.

The Colombian raced onto Osmand’s pass, rounded Alexander Nübel and finished calmly.

It was after that goal that the footage reportedly captured Černý with his head lowered.

The former Rangers winger was substituted five minutes later as Beşiktaş attempted to find a way back into the match.

Orkun Kökçü eventually equalised in the closing stages, but the Turkish side’s celebrations were short-lived.

Durán struck again almost immediately, converting after Kieran Tierney’s effort fell into his path.

The 3-2 victory secured Celtic’s first three points of the Europa League league phase after four matches.
