Tottenham Hotspur Under 18s scored twice in five late minutes to rescue a draw with West Ham on Saturday. Trailing by two goals with thirteen minutes left at Hotspur Way, Jamie Carr side refused to quit. Substitute Phoenix Offiah pulled one back before Oliver Boast levelled with eight minutes left. Still, Carr called it “a game we felt we should have won” after so many missed chances.
George Jobling played a big hand in both late goals to spark the comeback in Enfield. With thirteen minutes left, he ran through the middle to find Boast, whose shot Felix Ayesta pushed wide. Fellow sub Blake Philogene Bidace squared the loose ball for Offiah to score. Five minutes later, Jobling won the ball and sent Boast clear on the right to finish off a fast break.
Before that late fightback, West Ham had punished Spurs twice on the break. Tottenham came into the game full of belief after beating West Brom 9-1 in midweek. However, Jephthah Medine put the Hammers ahead in the 16th minute with their first shot. After keeper Mikel Jack made two saves, Chukwuemeka Marvin Obi made it 2-0 in the 68th minute.

The scoreline looked harsh on Tottenham after they controlled nearly the entire first half. Winger Joel Vidal Philbert beat his marker time and again on the left to put crosses into the box. Conall Glancy, Oscar Sandiford, and Armend Muslika all forced stops from Ayesta before the break. Centre back Cayon Hanson also went close three times, including a free header from eight yards.

Even after drawing level late on, the young Lilywhites pushed hard to find a winner before full time. Offiah volleyed a cross from Sandiford just wide of the post moments before Boast’s equalizer. Muslika then had two late chances to win the match in the closing stages at Hotspur Way. In the end, Tottenham had to settle for a single point from a London derby they controlled from the start.
