Flyers Game 17: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch vs. Wild
Flyers Game 17: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch vs. Wild

The Philadelphia Flyers (4-8-4) are home for one last game before a 5-game road trip on Tuesday, when they host the Minnesota Wild (10-3-3) at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM ET.

The Flyers enter Tuesday’s game after a dominating 6-3 win over the Utah Mammoth in the return of Owen Tippett and Travis Konecny. Konecny was a standout in the win, with 3 of the 4 forward lines finding the scoresheet, and Jamie Drysdale having a career-high 3-point and +5 game.

The Wild come into Philly on a 5-game point streak, winning 4 of their last 5 games, and picking up points in 8 of their last 9 games. They have the 3rd most standings points in the league through 16 games.

Puck drop is at 7:00 PM ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here is everything you need to know before the game.

Notes

Tuesday is expected to be forward Bobby Brink’s first game against his former team, the Flyers, since being traded. At the last deadline, Brink was traded to Minnesota in a one-for-one swap, sending defenseman David Jiricek to the Flyers. Brink was banged up the one time the Flyers traveled to Minnesota last season after the trade, so not only will this be his first trip to Philadelphia, but it will also be his first game against the Flyers. He deserves a tribute video.

The Flyers will also have a ton to build on from their Sunday win against the Mammoth. They were playing much like the team that had a bunch of success during the 2025-26 season. The Flyers were getting back to their pesky ways, forechecking hard, forcing mistakes, and taking advantage of those mistakes. Minnesota will provide just as tough a matchup as Utah, but with better goaltending. Can the Flyers keep up?

To add to that, the Wild are 7th in the league with 52 goals for this season. They’re allowed the 4th fewest goals in the league with 36. The team that Bill Guerin has assembled in Minnesota is going to be a challenge.

Rick Tocchet spoke about getting one of Dan Vladar or Joseph Woll into a more traditional top goalie role, and ditching the every-other-game rotation. With Vladar playing extremely well, and Woll struggling a bit in his last few starts, could Tuesday be the day Vladar gets two in a row? I think it’s the smart move, but we’ll know for sure after Tocchet’s morning media availability on Tuesday.
