Jürgen Klopp has made some significant changes to his Germany squad for the upcoming November internationals, trimming his original 44-player September selection down to a much more manageable 24 players.
That means 22 players who were part of Klopp’s initial selection have not been nominated this time around. Some absences are injury-related, while others are the result of difficult selection decisions, increased competition, and Klopp wanting to narrow down his options.
Here is the complete breakdown by position, including each player’s current club:
Bayern Munich has two players missing from the September selection, although Gnabry and Musiala are both dealing with injuries.
There are also some notable established internationals missing, including Bisseck, Amiri, Führich, Adeyemi, Raum, and Woltemade.
Of course, this does not necessarily mean the door is closed for any of these players. Klopp has already emphasized how difficult it was to reduce the original selection, and several of these players will undoubtedly remain in contention for future call-ups.
The competition for places in this Germany squad is only getting started.
