HIGHLANDERS FC will be seeking revenge when they take on CAPS United in a Chibuku Super Cup semi-final clash at Rufaro Stadium in Harare this Sunday afternoon.
Bosso head into the encounter with a point to prove after suffering defeats against the Green Machine in both league meetings this season, losing 2-1 at home before succumbing to a 4-2 defeat away.
With a place in the Chibuku Super Cup final at stake, Highlanders will be desperate to turn the tables on CAPS United and keep their hopes of silverware alive.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari said reaching the final was the team’s main target, while acknowledging the challenge posed by CAPS United.
“It’s obvious our target is to go to the final. We all know CAPS United is the team that gave us a lot of problems.
“We are preparing and we are going to Harare to go flat out, and they also know what it means.
“Let’s hope for this one because it is our only chance for silverware,” he said.
Meanwhile, CAPS United will also be eager to secure victory and book their place in the final, which would mark their first appearance in the competition’s showpiece match since its launch in 2014.
Highlanders, on the other hand, will be looking to make their second Chibuku Super Cup final appearance, having won the competition in 2019.
The winner will face Hardrock FC in the final after the Kwekwe-based side beat FC Hunters 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in the first semi-final at Chahwanda Stadium on Saturday.
