Andoni Iraola is likely to make some changes as it takes on Fenerbahce in the Champions League, with Liverpool having already won three out of three in Europe this term.
After victories over Atletico Madrid, LASK and Villarreal, the Reds sit third in the standings ahead of matchday four. Liverpool only needs to finish inside the top eight spots to avoid the play-off round.
As a result of the margin for error ā and with matches against Club Brugge, FC Porto, Inter Milan and Lens still to come ā it might make sense to give a couple of key men a rest.
There is an argument, for instance, for leaving Alisson Becker behind and giving Giorgi Mamardashvili the game in goal, while Virgil van Dijk is another who could be left out.
Joe Gomez will hope to come into the line-up somewhere, and he could allow Ronald Araujo to move into the center by filling in at full-back in the absence of Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.
Kostas Tsimikas has been playing a lot of midweek games lately and he could give Milos Kerkez another break having replaced him off the bench against Arsenal.
In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai is now fit again and is likely to start. The Hungarian could play any of the three roles in the middle having outlined his willingness to play anywhere earlier this week.
"As a number six, he might ask me to do different stuff, and as a 10 he might ask me different stuff than as an eight," Szoboszlai told reporters a few days ago.
"I only know before the game what Iām going to play, we all know only before the game so from there is only one and half hours to discuss with him the stuff he wants to do in the game and how he wants you to play.
"It's hard to say (where I am best) because there are games where we have the ball more, so I like to have the ball more as a six, getting the ball from Virgil and doing stuff from there. As a 10 I think I can also be dangerous, and as an eight. Wherever (Iraola) puts me, I try to do my best."
Get Liverpool's new 2026/27 home kit
Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
Trey Nyoni could get the chance to go again, while Ryan Gravenberch will be hoping for another opportunity to impress having lost his spot in the team to the 19-year-old.
Up top, Lewis Koumas could come in, with Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola and Cody Gakpo among those who could get a rest. Gakpo, in particular, has played a lot of minutes recently.
Victor Munoz and Rio Ngumoha could come in on the wings, though Wataru Endo and Federico Chiesa are not in the Reds' Champions League squad and therefore cannot feature.
