Barcelona midfielder Rodri is looking forward to his first Clasico on Sunday but has warned his team-mates they face a Real Madrid team looking for revenge.

Los Blancos are six points behind Barcelona in the table, while Rodri thinks their recent poor record in this famous fixture will also provide plenty of motivation.

“Of the last six or seven Clásicos, I think they’ve won one, so they’ll be eager for a comeback,” he told DAZN.

“It’s true that we’re coming off that setback in Paris, but our mentality remains intact and we’re eager to keep doing things well.”

Rodri should return to the starting XI, after being given a breather in midweek, and is looking forward to taking part in one of the biggest fixtures in the game.

”It’s a great joy to return to Spanish football and experience a Clásico, with all that it means on a global scale.” he added.

“One of the disadvantages for players who have been in the Premier League, for example, is that they haven’t been as highly valued or had the same impact as they can in La Liga.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to come back and play in matches like this, which put you in the global spotlight. The world stops to watch El Clásico , let’s hope it goes well.“
