The main event of the October 23, 2026, episode of WWE SmackDown took a wild turn when Ricky Saints interfered in a tag team match. His attack on Rey Fenix brought Penta into the action, turning the situation into a six-man tag team match.

WWE Champion Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano were originally set to face United States Champion Trick Williams and Fenix. The match was set up earlier in the show after a heated exchange involving Zayn, Williams, Fenix, and Gargano.

Zayn opened SmackDown by discussing his recent confrontation with Roman Reigns on RAW. He then called himself the “Alpha male” because he is the “smartest.” The WWE champion proclaimed that he was not going to tolerate any disrespect from Reigns, Penta, or anyone else.

Rey Fenix then came out and explained that his friendship with Zayn would not stop him from standing up for his brother, Penta. Zayn claimed that he respected Fenix and also mentioned that he wanted Mr. MITB Penta to focus on Reigns instead of him.

Trick Williams then joined the talk and demanded a WWE Championship match. He accused Zayn of lying about him the previous week. Moreover, he also reminded him about the time when he lost to Williams.

Sami Zayn refused to give Williams a title shot. Williams threatened to fight his way into a championship opportunity, and things nearly turned physical. Just then, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced a tag team match between Zayn and Gargano and the team of Williams and Fenix.

The main event initially looked like a regular tag team contest. However, Ricky Saints changed everything when he pulled Fenix off the ring apron and attacked him with stomps.

The interference ended the original match in a disqualification. Zayn and Gargano then took advantage of the chaos and double-teamed Williams.

Just then, Penta rushed to the ring to help his brother and Williams. He challenged Zayn, Gargano, and Saints to a six-man tag team match alongside himself, Williams, and Fenix.

The match restarted as a six-man tag team match.

Zayn initially took control against Fenix, hitting a sit-out powerbomb and going for the pin. Fenix kicked out. Moreover, Fenix fought back with a spinning kick before bringing Penta into the match.

Penta changed the momentum with a backbreaker and a Sling Blade on Gargano. He followed up with a modified Bronco Buster in the corner, but Gargano kicked out of the pin attempt.

The action soon spilled outside the ring, where Fenix launched himself off the top rope to take out Saints. Meanwhile, Penta hit Gargano with a Penta Driver, but Gargano somehow kicked out again.

Zayn tagged in and faced Williams. The US Champion responded with several right hands, a knee strike, and a clothesline. Williams then hit the Trick Shot, leaving Zayn in trouble as the match reached its final moments.

Saints eventually tagged into the match and tried to steal the win with a roll-up on Williams. However, Williams kicked out and countered with a Book End to score the pinfall.

Williams, Penta, and Fenix picked up the victory.

The win also gave Trick Williams some momentum as he will challenge Zayn’s Undisputed WWE title on the October 30 episode of SmackDown.
