USA To Host Women’s Football Club World Cup In 2028 –FIFA

The United States has been officially confirmed as the host nation for the upcoming women’s football Club World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in 2028.

FIFA made the landmark announcement on Thursday, marking a major milestone in the global expansion of club competitions for women’s football.

The tournament will bring together top club sides from confederations around the world to compete on American soil, reflecting the rapid growth, increasing commercial value, and rising popularity of the women’s game internationally.

Arsenal Women, Club America Femenil, FC Barcelona Femeni, Gotham FC, Naegohyang Women’s FC, SC Corinthians and Wuhan Jiangda WFC have already qualified, with a dozen more yet to be determined.

“We undertook a detailed assessment to identify the most suitable host for the inaugural edition of the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup,” FIFA Chief Women’s Football ‌Officer Sarai Bareman said in a statement.

“Ultimately, the United States’ recent excellence in staging top FIFA tournaments, combined with the significant interest in women’s football there plus its elite sporting infrastructure, made the country the standout option.”

FIFA has been eager to tap into the lucrative American market, and the US staged the men’s Club World Cup in 2025 and co-hosted the FIFA World Cup earlier this year with Mexico and Canada.
