Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has suggested Ryan Gravenberch could still be in contention to face Crystal Palace this weekend, despite the midfielder being left out of the Netherlands' squad for the upcoming international break.

The Reds head to Selhurst Park on Sunday, when they will be aiming to respond following back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Fenerbahce in recent days. The former of those has seen any bureoning title ambitions put in check, with Liverpool now sitting nine points behind the defending Premier League champions.

Palace will present an opportunity to get back to winning ways, with Eagles boss Pierre Sage coming under increasing pressure as his side sits in the relegation zone.

Liverpool though may have to travel to London without Gravenberch. The 24-year-old missed the midweek trip to Fenerbahce in the Champions League with a heel injury, having also been left on the bench against Arsenal a few days earlier.

Gravenberch has now been left out of the Netherlands' squad for this month's international break, which gets underway following this weekend's round of games, but speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Iraola wasn't yet prepared to rule the midfielder out against Palace.

"Ryan is a day to day thing and a matter of pain," Iraola said. "Let's see if he can deal with the pain and help us."

Iraola confirmed before the meeting with Fenerbahce during the week that Gravenberch had suffered a fracture in his heel, with the midfielder having expressed doubts following the warm-up to the game against Arsenal.

There are no new injury concerns for the Reds to deal with ahead of the trip to Palace, with Jeremie Frimpong still out with a muscle injury, while long-term absentees Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike are still working their way to a return to training.

Leoni’s comeback has been delayed, having been expected to return to training during the last international break, but Iraola has indicated the club is targeting him to be back in training over the coming weeks.

Likewise, Bradley and Ekitike are both on course to rejoin their teammates in training soon, having been sidelined with knee and Achilles injuries respectively this year.
