Mozambique name squad for Cup of Nations qualifier

Polokwane City midfielder Manuel Kambala has been included in Mozambique’s squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia.

Former Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson is also in the 26-man squad for matches against Ethiopia in Maputo on Friday, November 13 and the return fixture on Tuesday, November 17 in Bahir Dar.

Mozambique, on four points, sit second behind Senegal in the group after drawing 1-1 in Maputo last month and then posting a 4-1 win over Sudan in their second game in Group J.

Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde has handed a first call-up to Cremildo Mussanganhe, of Associação Black Bulls, who impressed during the club's qualification campaign for the African Confederation Cup group stage and has recalled midfielder Keyns Abdala, who plays in Portugal at Chaves.

Attacker Gildo Vilanculos, who plays for Portugal's Alcochetense, misses out because of an injury suffered in the victory over Sudan, while Black Bulls defender Celton Jamisse has been dropped.
