Rayo Vallecano fans and club officials exchanged statements following a meeting, with supporters accusing the board of failing to reflect what was discussed just minutes after a formal statement was published.

Clashing Statements Follow Marathon Talks at Vallecas

The friction erupted on Friday afternoon in Madrid following a meeting that stretched past three hours between club directors and supporter groups, including the Federación de Peñas and the Plataforma ADRV. Representatives gathered to address a fifteen-year rift with club leadership under Raúl Martín Presa. The initial club statement outlined plans for monthly fan summits and the return of the iconic red sash to all three kits for the 2027–28 season, alongside a proportional refund mechanism for season-ticket holders displaced to the Estadio Ontime Butarque in Leganés during stadium disruptions.

However, the Agrupación de Peñas released a scathing counter-statement minutes later. Supporters claimed the club’s public summary “does not conform to what was discussed yesterday,” alleging that officials omitted critical agreements reached behind closed doors. “Pese a la disposición al diálogo y al cambio que fue observado en la reunión, tras el comunicado del club… podemos afirmar que esta misma voluntad no ha sido más que palabras,” the supporters’ group declared in their release, as reported by Diario AS.

Disputed Concessions and Unresolved Stadium Futures

While the initial club bulletin focused heavily on the upcoming kit redesigns and the Leganés ticket refund formula—calculated by dividing total season costs by nineteen fixtures and multiplying by missed matches—the fan groups brought several additional commitments to light. According to the Federación de Peñas, the club agreed to replace the torn Fondo Norte banner ahead of the upcoming home fixture against Valencia as a gesture of good faith, incorporating fan designs in the process.

Furthermore, both parties pointed toward future negotiation points that remain heavily contested. Diario AS noted that upcoming sessions are slated to tackle the freezing or revision of season ticket prices for the 2027–28 campaign, the adoption of a standardized away-fan ticket agreement, and the permanent retention of the historic Estadio Vallecas at its current municipal site. The club later confirmed these agenda items via its official social media channel following pressure from the stands.

Next Steps Ahead of the Celta Vigo Fixture

The fractured communications threaten to overshadow sporting preparations as the squad readies itself for a La Liga encounter against RC Celta de Vigo. While the Rayo Vallecano official website emphasized that these dialogue channels are designed to secure vital sporting support from the stands, supporter groups maintained a cautious stance. The fan collectives warned that their truce is not unconditional, stating that further mobilization will follow if leadership fails to turn promises into binding actions.

Gratitude Expressed for Supporters After Tragedy

In its official communication, the club also took a moment to publicly thank all the Rayo Vallecano fans who recently rushed to the scene of a terrible accident to offer their assistance. Officials noted that they were able to convey this gratitude to them in person during the recent gatherings, deeming it essential to mention their actions once again in the final note of the statement.
