Tanzania reportedly fixes 2pm kick-off for Super Eagles clash
IMG-20261027-WA0448(1)

Tanzania have reportedly scheduled their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying encounter against Nigeria for 2:00 pm on November 17, 2026.

The Taifa Stars are expected to host the Super Eagles in the return leg of the qualifying fixture, with the afternoon kick-off potentially presenting an additional challenge for Nigeria’s players.

Reports suggest that the timing could expose the Super Eagles, particularly their Europe-based stars, to the scorching afternoon heat in Tanzania.

The encounter will come four days after the first leg, scheduled to take place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on November 13, 2026.

Nigeria will be hoping to secure a positive result at home before travelling to Tanzania for the return fixture.

However, the reported 2:00 pm kick-off time and the suggestion that the heat could be used to Nigeria’s disadvantage have yet to be officially confirmed.

Both matches are expected to play a crucial role in determining the Super Eagles’ progress in the race to qualify for the 2027 AFCON
