“We hebben een goede basis staan en ik zie volop mogelijkheden om ons technisch beleid verder te ontwikkelen,” said Sonny Bosz after stepping into his new role.
The 36-year-old official succeeds Bernard Schuiteman, who departed the Waalwijk club to take up a similar role at Vitesse. Bosz officially assumed his new duties on November 1, 2026, stepping up from his previous position as head scout.
Following the departure of Bernard Schuiteman, RKC Waalwijk took deliberate time to hold discussions with multiple candidates and looked expressly beyond their own organization. Managing director Rob de Groot noted that Bosz emerged as the most suitable candidate on both professional and personal levels, bringing extensive experience within professional football, a strong network, and a clear vision on football. Sonny is toegankelijk, betrokken, werkt op een prettige manier samen en past qua karakter uitstekend bij onze club,
De Groot stated, adding that the club has complete confidence in him making this next step successfully.
Before arriving in Waalwijk in the summer of 2024, Bosz built extensive experience within professional football scouting. He spent six years working within the scouting department at Vitesse from 2014 to 2020 and subsequently spent three years at Ajax from 2020 to 2023. In his previous capacity as head scout for the current number 13 of the Eerste Divisie, he worked closely on squad composition and technical strategy. De afgelopen jaren heb ik de club leren kennen als een warme en ambitieuze organisatie, waar mensen op een prettige en betrokken manier met elkaar samenwerken,
Bosz added.
The appointment places Bosz at the helm of the club’s technical department alongside managing director Rob de Groot, forming the core of RKC’s executive leadership. Meanwhile, the club’s search for a new head scout is already underway to fill the vacancy left by his promotion.

The leadership change also adds another notable connection between RKC Waalwijk and PSV. Sonny Bosz is the son of PSV head coach Peter Bosz, who notably played as a professional midfielder for RKC between 1985 and 1988. The 62-year-old Peter Bosz joins a connection that also includes active player links this season, with RKC currently renting goalkeeper Niek Schiks from the Eindhoven side.
With Bosz officially installed as technical director, the club turns its attention to completing the technical staff by recruiting a replacement head scout. Ik voel me hier thuis en kijk ernaar uit om vanuit mijn nieuwe rol verder te bouwen aan de sportieve ambities van RKC Waalwijk,
Bosz said.
