Two Indonesian Women's Doubles Pairs Advance to Hylo Open Semifinals

Two Indonesian women’s doubles pairings have advanced to the semifinals of the Hylo Open 2026 in Saarbrücken, Germany, while the nation’s remaining men’s doubles entries exited the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament following defeats on Thursday, October 29.

Indonesian Women’s Doubles Secure Semifinal Berths at Saarlandhalle

The women’s doubles pairs of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, alongside teammates Amalija Cahya Pratiwi and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, secured their places in the next round after winning their respective round-of-16 matches at the Saarlandhalle, according to tournament results published on the official BWF website.

Pratiwi and Ramadhanti defeated England’s Sian Kelly and Lizie Tolman in straight games, 21-11, 21-15. Meanwhile, third-seeded Kusuma and Puspitasari advanced past Taiwan’s Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun with a 21-14, 21-11 victory.

Men’s Doubles Campaign Ends in Round of 16

Indonesia’s representation in the men’s doubles draw came to a close after two remaining pairs lost their matches on Thursday. Fourth-seeded Indonesian pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin fell to Denmark’s William Kryger Boe and Rasmus Espersen 14-21, 19-21. Indra and Joaquin struggled to close the gap in the opening game and could not overturn the deficit despite mounting a stronger defense in the second game.

The defeat left Indonesia with no remaining contenders in the men’s doubles category at the Saarbrücken event. Earlier in the tournament, Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani were eliminated in the round of 16 by Malaysia’s Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King, losing 20-22, 19-21.

Tournament Schedule and Context

The Hylo Open 2026 runs from October 27 through November 1 at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany. The tournament carries BWF World Tour Super 500 status, drawing international competitors to the German venue ahead of the weekend’s decisive matches.
