Richarlison has already played his final game for Tottenham, and the race for his signature may be about to heat up following Spurs’ latest decision.
The striker’s time at the North London club is ending in an unsavoury manner after he was left out of Roberto De Zerbi’s 25-man Premier League squad.
De Zerbi has said the decision to leave Richarlison out was not made by him, which clearly suggests that he has had a falling out with the club’s hierarchy.
Over recent weeks, it has been reported that Spurs have agreed to sell the striker for a cut-price fee in the winter, and the club have also decided against exercising their option to extend his contract by one year until 2028.
According to a report in Terra, Tottenham have now slashed their asking price for the 29-year-old to just €10m (£8.3m) in January.
The club have decided to accept such a low fee, as the forward would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs from January ahead of a potential free transfer next summer.
Vasco Da Gama attempted to sign Richarlison on a loan deal during the summer, but they did not entertain the prospect of a permanent deal at the time.
However, it is revealed that the Brazilian club are now exploring the possibility of a permanent deal in January, now that his price has dropped significantly.
Although Vasco have not begun any negotiations yet, they are not ruling out making further contact to understand the reality of the demands and the striker’s thinking.
Terra claims, however, that as per their sources, Richarlison intends to continue his career in Europe rather than returning to Brazil.
While he was interested in a loan move to Vasco in the summer, the striker understands that he still ‘has a market’ in European football and does not intend to return home at this stage of his career.
The report says that the likely outcome for Richarlison is a mid-season move to the Turkish Super Lig.
Trabzonspor and Galatasaray have both expressed interest in the Spurs man, with the latter even having held talks with the player’s representatives.
