The Black Starlets ended their WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship campaign without a medal after losing 2-0 to hosts Burkina Faso in the third-place play-off.
Burkina Faso scored once in each half to secure the bronze medal, while Ghana were unable to convert their opportunities after missing out on a place in the final.
Ghana created several promising chances during the match but lacked the finishing required to trouble a determined Burkinabe side. Their failure to score ultimately proved decisive.
Striker Alidu Issah had the opportunity to bring Ghana back into the contest from the penalty spot, but he failed to convert. The missed penalty denied the Black Starlets the chance to reduce the deficit before Burkina Faso extended their lead.
The spot-kick was a significant setback for Ghana as they searched for a route back into the game. Burkina Faso took advantage of their own opportunity to increase the difference and leave the Starlets facing a difficult comeback challenge.
Coach Kassim Ocansey and his technical team will now assess the lessons from the tournament as they continue their development and prepare for future international assignments.
