Despite the two-time major champion's continued dedication to LIV Golf, supporters have questioned Bryson DeChambeau's professional decisions after he was again seen without any branded clothing.
Against the backdrop of an uncertain future and a notable LIV exodus, DeChambeau uploaded a YouTube video entitled 'I Played Golf with the Amish' just hours ago, prompting supporters to comment after the 33-year-old mentioned earlier this year he would be interested in expanding his social media presence should LIV cease operations.
"I think, from my perspective, I'd love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more," DeChambeau said in May.
"I would love to. I'd love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then I'd love to play tournaments that want me."
After ESPN reported that DeChambeau has pledged his commitment to LIV before an approaching Oct. 25 deadline, he appeared in the video wearing clothing from his personal brand, despite consistently sporting Crushers merchandise. Fans also flocked to the comments section to criticize the star, with some expressing surprise that he would prefer to create YouTube content rather than attempt to rejoin the PGA Tour.
"This is emblematic of who he is now. No longer a serious golfer. Just a clickbait warrior," wrote one fan online.
"YouTube golf will never be more popular than a real competition," another fan added. "With real consequences for bad shots. Watching Bryson training will never match real competition."
One observer noted that DeChambeau would sooner do anything than approach the PGA Tour seeking a pathway back into its circuit, despite having had the opportunity earlier in the year, when the Returning Member Program was open to him, Rahm, Cameron Smith, and Brooks Koepka. That path is now closed.
DeChambeau's future remains very much up in the air, as prominent names such as Rahm, Sergio Garcia, Adrian Meronk, and Louis Oosthuizen have all confirmed their departures from the rebel circuit come 2027.
"We'll see if investors like it or not. I'm giving all I can to make it happen, and if it doesn't, it doesn't happen," said DeChambeau in May, referring to LIV's future.
The DP World Tour also announced that no LIV star will be permitted to compete in any of its events from 2027 onward, having previously extended conditional status to those players.
