Siwelele FC have announced a change in their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) technical team, appointing Lehlohonolo Seema as the new coach of their reserve side following the departure of Willem Jackson.
Club chairman Calvin Le John confirmed Seema’s appointment, bringing Jackson’s spell with the club to an end. However, Siwelele have not revealed the reasons behind Jackson’s exit, and no further changes to the coaching staff have been announced.
Seema now faces the task of guiding the club’s young players through the DDC campaign while helping them develop the qualities required to break into the senior team. His experience is expected to play an important role as Siwelele continue building a stronger player-development structure.
The DStv Diski Challenge serves as an important competition for young South African footballers, giving them an opportunity to gain valuable match experience, improve their skills and showcase their talent. For clubs, the competition also provides a pathway for identifying promising players who could eventually feature in the first team.
Seema’s job will therefore involve more than simply delivering positive results. He will be expected to improve the team’s consistency, strengthen tactical discipline and ensure that the players continue progressing in their development.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s next career move remains unclear, as the club has not provided further details about his departure.
Siwelele supporters will now be eager to see how the coaching change affects the reserve side’s performances and whether Seema can help more young talents earn opportunities in the senior team.
