Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has emphasized the significance of the team's upcoming matches, asserting that every game should be treated as a final, given the demanding schedule ahead across various competitions.

In his comments about Sundowns' match against Wiliete in the CAF Champions League, Cardoso pointed out that the importance of this fixture goes beyond simply achieving a favorable outcome.

The Portuguese coach acknowledged the difficult challenges his team will face after this continental match, which includes a Carling knockout game and the Super Cup the following week.

“I’m emphasizing that the upcoming matches will hold the same importance as the one against Wiliete. After this, we have a knockout match for the Carling, followed by the Super Cup,” Cardoso stated.

His statements highlight the necessity for Sundowns to maintain focus during this busy stretch, with several critical matches lined up in quick succession.

Instead of solely focusing on the game against Wiliete, Cardoso is urging his players to understand the importance of each fixture and to prepare accordingly. With various competitions presenting unique challenges, it will be vital for the team to sustain consistency and manage the pressures on the squad effectively.

Cardoso further illustrated his approach by referring to the forthcoming matches as finals, stressing that each one is equally crucial.

“When I say finals, I mean that all of them are significant,” he remarked.

This sentiment underscores the high expectations placed on Sundowns as they compete on multiple fronts. The team will need to balance its ambitions in continental competitions with domestic duties while ensuring that their performance levels remain elevated.

Cardoso’s message also highlights the players' responsibility to stay mentally ready for each challenge, regardless of the opponent or tournament.

With the Wiliete game first on the agenda, Sundowns must focus on delivering the necessary performance before shifting their attention to the Carling knockout match and the Super Cup.

For Cardoso, the message is straightforward: every match counts, and his team must approach each one with the seriousness and commitment needed to contend for trophies.
