Gauteng Giants Beaten: Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Hijacks Cape Town City Super Talent Before PSL Big Three

Roc Nation Sports Makes Another Big Move as South African Rising Star Joins Jay-Z’s Agency

Roc Nation Sports International continues to strengthen its presence in South African football after securing the services of another promising young talent, with Cape Town City midfielder Gabriel Amato becoming the latest local prospect to join the internationally recognised sports agency.

The move represents an important milestone in the 20-year-old's developing career, as he looks to establish himself as one of the country's most exciting young footballers and potentially attract opportunities beyond South African football.

Amato's signing comes amid growing interest in his development, with the midfielder having impressed through his performances for Cape Town City. His technical qualities, creativity and ability to influence attacking situations have reportedly attracted attention from several football stakeholders.

Roc Nation Sports International, which has established a growing reputation for identifying and developing emerging football talent, believes Amato possesses the qualities required to reach a much higher level.

The agency's Director of African Football Recruitment, Grant Veitch, expressed his excitement about bringing the young midfielder into the organisation.

"It has been incredible to watch Amato's rapid development and stellar performances for Cape Town City. He is a truly special talent with extraordinary vision and technical ability. He embodies everything we look for in an athlete at Roc Nation."

Veitch's comments underline the confidence the organisation has in the South African youngster and its belief that he has considerable potential to develop into an important name in the game.

Amato's journey has also attracted attention because of his previous exposure to international football. In December 2025, he had an opportunity to train with Dutch club PEC Zwolle, providing him with valuable experience and a glimpse of the European football environment.

His new representation could prove significant as he continues pursuing his ambitions of playing abroad.

The midfielder now joins an increasingly impressive group of South African prospects represented by Roc Nation Sports International, including Cayden Fortune, Neo Bohloko, Emile Witbooi and Siyabonga Mabena.

Interestingly, his Cape Town City teammate Cayden Fortune also recently secured a move to the agency, highlighting the organisation's growing interest in identifying promising talent within the South African game.

For Amato, the immediate challenge will be to maintain his development, deliver consistent performances and use the opportunity to position himself for bigger opportunities.

With Roc Nation now backing his career, the young midfielder will be hoping this latest development becomes another important step towards fulfilling his ambitions of making it onto the international stage.
