Chiefs Reportedly Make Private Move For New Coach As Major Changes Loom

Kaizer Chiefs could be considering changes to their technical department, with reports linking experienced South African coach Manqoba Mngqithi to a possible move to Naturena.

According to a report published by Sports With Daily News on Thursday, 5 November 2026, discussions about Mngqithi's potential involvement at the club have reportedly taken place behind the scenes. Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. is said to have held a private meeting with the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

The reported development has raised questions about the future of current head coach Fernando Da Cruz, although Chiefs have not announced any decision regarding his position.

Mngqithi brings considerable Premier Soccer League experience, having previously worked at Sundowns, where he was involved in several successful campaigns.

The report also suggests that his possible involvement could extend beyond coaching, with a potential influence on the club's recruitment strategy.

Winger Elias Mokwana has been mentioned in connection with the reported plans. Chiefs have already unveiled the player and handed him jersey number 14.

Another player reportedly attracting interest is Thembinkosi Lorch, whose attacking qualities could add experience and creativity to the Chiefs squad.

However, neither Mngqithi's possible appointment nor the reported interest in Lorch has been officially confirmed by the club.

For now, the developments remain speculation as Chiefs supporters await clarity on the club's technical and recruitment plans.
