A worrying trend continues to raise security concerns in professional football, with several high-profile players falling victim to home burglaries over the years.
From Europe to other football destinations, footballers have increasingly found themselves dealing with the frightening reality of having their homes targeted by criminals, sometimes while they are representing their clubs on the pitch or travelling with their teams.
The list of players who have reportedly experienced home burglaries includes some of the biggest names in world football.
Among the reported victims are Brazilian defenders Éder Militão and Antony in 2026, Swedish striker Alexander Isak and French defender Jules Koundé in 2024, as well as Argentine forward Ángel Correa in the same year.
Other notable names include Sergio Ramos and Rodrygo, whose homes were reportedly targeted in 2023.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also experienced a home robbery in 2022, while Raheem Sterling reportedly suffered incidents in both 2022 and 2025.
The list further includes Paul Pogba (2022), João Cancelo (2021), Karim Benzema (2019 and 2022), Reece James (2021) and Fabinho (2020).
What makes these incidents particularly concerning is that some burglaries have reportedly occurred while players were away fulfilling professional football commitments.
The incidents raise serious questions about the security arrangements surrounding professional athletes, whose public schedules and high-profile lifestyles can potentially expose their properties to criminals.
Although footballers often have access to private security, expensive homes and sophisticated surveillance systems, these incidents demonstrate that wealth and fame do not necessarily guarantee personal safety.
The growing list serves as a reminder that home security remains a serious concern, even for some of the world's wealthiest and most recognisable sporting personalities.
Football may be their profession, but protecting their families and homes remains a priority beyond the pitch.
