Wiliete SC head coach Beto Bianchi has insisted that his team will not simply surrender to Mamelodi Sundowns, declaring that the Angolan side also has a chance to influence the outcome of their CAF Champions League encounter on Friday.

Despite Sundowns entering the match with greater continental experience and a reputation as one of Africa’s leading clubs, Bianchi believes Wiliete can make their presence felt and challenge the South African giants.

The two teams are battling for progression in the CAF Champions League, with Sundowns looking to continue their pursuit of continental success. However, Bianchi is determined to ensure that Wiliete are not treated as mere participants in the contest.

The Wiliete coach recognises the challenge posed by Sundowns, a club that has established itself as a major force in African football. Nevertheless, he remains confident that his players can compete if they approach the encounter with the right mentality and discipline.

Bianchi’s message reflects his belief that football matches are not decided by reputation alone. While Sundowns may be considered favourites by many observers, Wiliete will have their own ambitions and will be looking to make the most of their opportunities.

“Despite the odds, we also have a say in this,” is the message behind the Wiliete boss’s confident stance ahead of Friday’s meeting.

For Sundowns, the fixture presents another important test in their campaign as they seek to progress further in the competition. The Brazilians will be expected to use their experience and quality to control the game, but they must also be prepared for a determined opponent.

Wiliete, meanwhile, will hope to frustrate Sundowns and take advantage of any opportunities that arise during the match. A strong performance against a club of Sundowns’ stature would also represent an important moment for the Angolan side.

Bianchi’s comments underline the competitive spirit Wiliete intend to bring into the encounter. Rather than being intimidated by their opponents’ reputation, his team will aim to compete and demonstrate that they can influence the result.

As Friday’s clash approaches, Sundowns will be focused on meeting expectations, while Wiliete will be eager to prove that they deserve to be part of the continental conversation. The outcome will ultimately be decided on the pitch, where Bianchi believes his team still has a meaningful role to play.
