Pyramids FC head coach Rulani Mokwena has reportedly approached the club’s management with a request for additional reinforcements following the team’s strong start to the 2026/27 campaign.
The reported move suggests that Mokwena is already considering how to strengthen his squad as Pyramids look to maintain their early-season momentum.
Mokwena is understood to have identified areas where Pyramids need improvement, with the attacking department reportedly among his main concerns.
The South African tactician has made it clear that strengthening the forward line is important, particularly following the departure of striker Fiston Mayele, who played a significant role in the Egyptian club's recent success.
Speaking about the club's recruitment plans in earlier comments reported by Egyptian media, Mokwena said the team had clear transfer targets and that discussions with the management were progressing in agreement.
“Our transfer targets are very clear,” the coach stated.
He also explained that Pyramids were considering several striker options while assessing the type of player who would suit their style of play and the demands of Egyptian and African football.
Mokwena stressed the importance of recruiting players who could improve the squad rather than making signings simply for the sake of adding numbers. He also acknowledged the work being done by the club's recruitment department and management to identify suitable candidates.
The coach's reported transfer request comes as Pyramids look to build on their positive start to the 2026/27 season and remain competitive across domestic and continental competitions.
With the January transfer window approaching, attention will be on whether the club's hierarchy can meet Mokwena's recruitment expectations and provide the reinforcements he believes are necessary.
