Pirates Coach Breaks Silence on Moremi's Red-Hot Form, Reveals What Has Changed

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has explained the secret behind Tshepang Moremi's impressive transformation, revealing how the Bafana Bafana winger has become one of the club's most dangerous attacking players.

Moremi's excellent performances have attracted attention from South African football supporters, with his growing influence becoming an important part of Pirates' attacking strength.

However, according to Ouaddou, the improvement is not simply about scoring goals. It comes from understanding the player's natural abilities and building a tactical system that allows him to use them effectively.

Speaking ahead of Pirates' Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final against Sekhukhune United, Ouaddou explained that understanding individual players is one of the most important responsibilities of a football coach.

He believes managers must recognise their players' strengths instead of forcing them to perform roles that do not suit their abilities.

The Moroccan coach specifically identified Moremi's speed as his biggest weapon. He explained that the winger does not necessarily need to imitate other attacking players because his natural qualities already make him different.

Ouaddou also addressed comparisons with teammates Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis, making it clear that Moremi must concentrate on developing his own identity rather than attempting to become another player.

According to the coach, Moremi is not a number 10, and trying to convert him into one would limit the qualities that make him dangerous. Instead, he wants the Bafana international to operate as a traditional winger, using his pace to trouble opposition defenders.

The coach explained that he had reminded Moremi about the special gift he possesses and encouraged him to use it efficiently. He also admitted that he could work throughout his life without acquiring the kind of natural speed the Pirates attacker has.

The results of that approach have been encouraging. Moremi has registered seven goals and one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions, according to TimesLIVE's November 6 report.

That contribution highlights why he has become an important attacking option for the Buccaneers.

Ouaddou, however, remained careful about revealing the specific tactical instructions behind the player's improvement, explaining that disclosing those details would expose his team's plans to opponents.

He also praised Moremi's willingness to help his teammates, stressing that the winger is not selfish and can contribute through both goals and assists.

For Pirates supporters, the coach's explanation offers an interesting insight into the work happening behind the scenes. Moremi's development could become particularly important as the Buccaneers continue competing for domestic honours.

Do you agree with Abdeslam Ouaddou that Tshepang Moremi should focus on his natural speed instead of trying to play like Relebohile Mofokeng or Oswin Appollis? Share your opinion in the comment section.
