South African coach Simo Dladla is making headlines in Tanzanian football after guiding Young Africans SC to another impressive victory, strengthening the club’s title ambitions and putting pressure on their bitter rivals, Simba SC, coached by fellow South African tactician Steve Barker.
Young Africans continued their impressive run of form with a convincing 4-0 victory over Kagera Sugar in the Tanzanian Premier League. The result secured back-to-back victories for Dladla’s side and moved them closer to the top of the league standings.
Dladla’s recent performances have attracted attention, with Young Africans showing signs of renewed confidence and determination as the title race enters an important stage. Their latest victory has increased the pressure on Simba SC, who remain ahead of their rivals despite Yanga’s growing momentum.
Following the result, Young Africans moved to within two points of league leaders Simba SC. However, Barker’s side still have a game in hand, meaning the competition for the Tanzanian Premier League title remains open.
Another major talking point from the encounter was the continued impressive form of Namibian international Peter Shalulile, who once again demonstrated his attacking quality by finding the back of the net.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker has now scored in two consecutive matches, taking his recent tally to two goals across those games. His overall contribution for Young Africans has also reached six goals, highlighting his growing importance to the team’s attacking ambitions.
Shalulile previously established himself as one of the most recognised forwards in South African football during his successful spell with Mamelodi Sundowns, where he earned widespread admiration from supporters.
His experience and goal-scoring ability are now proving valuable as Young Africans pursue domestic success.
With Dladla’s team collecting important victories and Shalulile continuing to deliver in front of goal, attention will remain on whether Yanga can maintain their momentum and challenge Barker’s Simba SC for the league title.
