Pretoria In Panic: Algerian Giants Drop Chilling Warning As They Touch Down To Hijack Sundown Title

USM Alger Step Up Preparations for Sundowns Super Cup Showdown as Special Plans Emerge

Mamelodi Sundowns are set for another major continental challenge, but their CAF Super Cup opponents, USM Alger, appear determined to leave nothing to chance ahead of Sunday's highly anticipated showdown.

The Algerian giants are increasing their preparations for the one-off trophy encounter as they look to overcome the South African champions and add another prestigious continental title to their collection.

For Sundowns, the fixture represents an opportunity to strengthen their reputation as one of Africa's leading football clubs. However, USM Alger will be equally motivated, knowing that defeating the Brazilians would represent a significant achievement for their supporters and the club.

According to reports from Algeria, USM Alger are scheduled to depart for South Africa on Tuesday evening, travelling through Johannesburg before continuing to Pretoria, where the final will take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

The decision to travel several days before the match is understood to be part of a carefully considered preparation strategy. The Algerian club want their players to settle into their new surroundings, recover from the long journey and become accustomed to the South African conditions before facing Sundowns.

USM Alger are also expected to benefit from having four days in South Africa to complete their final preparations. The technical team will have sufficient time to work on tactical arrangements, assess the players' fitness and prepare a suitable approach for the encounter.

One of the major considerations behind the early departure is the weather. South African temperatures can be particularly demanding during this period, and the Algerian side are reportedly keen to ensure that their players are comfortable ahead of the afternoon kick-off scheduled for 15:00.

Their preparations have also received a boost following an important 2-0 away victory over CS Constantine in the Algerian Ligue 1. The result has provided additional confidence as they turn their attention towards the continental assignment.

USM Alger coach Lamine N'Diaye will be hoping to use the available preparation time effectively as he seeks to guide his team towards another major African triumph.

Meanwhile, Sundowns will be aware that their opponents are approaching the final with serious intentions. The Brazilians will enjoy home advantage, but they cannot afford to underestimate a team that has already demonstrated its ability to compete successfully in continental football.

Both clubs have previously won the CAF Super Cup. Sundowns lifted the trophy in 2017, while USM Alger claimed the 2023 edition after defeating Al Ahly.

The November 8 encounter therefore presents an opportunity for either side to secure a second title in the competition.

With USM Alger making special travel and acclimatisation arrangements, the message from the Algerian camp is clear: they are travelling to Pretoria with ambitions of returning home with silverware
