South African football supporters are looking forward to another high-stakes weekend of knockout action following the official confirmation of the 2026 Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final arrangements by the Premier Soccer League.
The prestigious tournament has narrowed down to eight remaining teams competing for a place in the semi-finals. The line-up features established powerhouses alongside competitive contenders, including Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu, Stellenbosch FC, Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows, and Siwelele FC.
To accommodate a crowded domestic and continental schedule, match organizers adjusted the fixture list, placing the encounter between Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows earlier than the rest. Sundowns will host the KwaZulu-Natal side at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, with an evening kick-off set for 19:00. While the Pretoria club aims to maximize its home-field advantage, Golden Arrows has already proved to be a stubborn opponent in recent meetings, setting up a competitive match.
The schedule adjustment was largely driven by broader calendar demands, including local government elections that led to the postponement of several league fixtures, allowing domestic cup matches to take priority. Additionally, Sundowns required flexibility to prepare for their upcoming CAF Super Cup fixture against USM Alger on 7 November.
The remaining three quarter-final ties promise equally compelling action. Kaizer Chiefs are set to host Siwelele FC, entering the match with momentum after securing their spot in the last eight through a convincing 3-0 win over TS Galaxy, highlighted by a hat-trick from Wandile Duba. Defending champions Orlando Pirates continue their title defense against Sekhukhune United, while Stellenbosch FC meets an improved AmaZulu team operating under the guidance of head coach Arthur Zwane.
The winners of these quarter-final clashes will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for 21 and 22 November, leading up to the final on 12 December 2026. With major clubs seeking silverware and underdogs aiming for an upset, the Premier Soccer League is expected to finalize remaining stadium logistics and ticketing details in the coming days.
