Tim Sukazi “You Will Never Score at Orlando Amstel Arena, the Ball Just Can’t Go Into the Net”

Tim Sukazi has praised the impressive transformation of Orlando Pirates over the past three to four years, highlighting the club’s growth, strong brand and ability to attract thousands of supporters to the stadium. The TS Galaxy chairman also admitted that scoring at Orlando Amstel Arena can be a frustrating experience for visiting teams, recalling how his side struggled to find the net despite creating chances.

Sukazi believes Orlando Pirates have made significant progress in improving the club’s overall image and strengthening its position in South African football. According to him, the changes have been visible both on and off the pitch, with the Buccaneers attracting greater attention and consistently drawing large crowds to their matches.

The Pirates faithful have continued to demonstrate their loyalty by filling stadiums and creating an exciting atmosphere whenever their team takes to the field. Sukazi sees this as evidence of the hard work that has gone into developing the club’s brand and improving its relationship with supporters.

Speaking about the progress made by the Buccaneers, Sukazi expressed his admiration for the people responsible for the club’s development.

“I admire the work that has been done by Orlando Pirates holistically, the brand. I think they’ve put in a lot of work in the last three to four years. There has been this 360-degree change in the outlook of the club. They’re filling up stadiums without any hesitation,” Sukazi said.

His comments highlight the growing reputation of Orlando Pirates as one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs, with their passionate supporters continuing to play an important role in creating an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams.

However, Sukazi’s most interesting observation concerned the difficulties opponents can experience when playing at Orlando Amstel Arena. Drawing from his own experience, the TS Galaxy chairman suggested that finding the back of the net at the venue can sometimes feel almost impossible.

Sukazi recalled a recent match in which his team created scoring opportunities but failed to convert them, while Orlando Pirates secured a convincing 3-0 victory.

“Whatever is happening Esigodini is amazing, and you can’t score in Orlando Amstel Arena. I was there just last Tuesday, and I got 3-0. We created chances, but the ball doesn’t want to go into the net. I don’t know why,” he added.

His remarks capture the frustration visiting teams can experience when their attacking efforts fail to produce goals against Orlando Pirates.

For the Buccaneers, the combination of strong performances and passionate home support continues to make their matches special. Sukazi’s praise also reflects the respect Orlando Pirates have earned from people involved in South African football.

As the club continues its development, Pirates supporters will hope their team maintains its impressive form and makes Orlando Amstel Arena an increasingly difficult place for opponents to secure positive results.
