Kaizer Chiefs could be preparing to strengthen their attacking department with two high-profile South African forwards, as reports link the Soweto giants with Elias Mokwana and Thembinkosi Lorch ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to reports from SABC Sport, Chiefs have reportedly reached an agreement with winger Elias Mokwana, with an official announcement expected in the coming period. Although the reported agreement represents a potential breakthrough for Amakhosi, the club has yet to confirm the development, meaning supporters will have to wait for an official statement.
Mokwana is an exciting attacking player whose pace, dribbling ability and direct approach have previously made him an important figure in South African football. His potential arrival at Naturena could provide coach Fernando Da Cruz with additional options on the wings and greater attacking flexibility. A return to the domestic game could also offer the winger an opportunity to rediscover his best form.
Meanwhile, Thembinkosi Lorch has emerged as another possible attacking target for Chiefs. The experienced forward is reportedly nearing an exit from Libyan side Al-Ittihad Tripoli, potentially opening the door for a return to South Africa.
Lorch remains one of the country's recognisable attacking talents following his previous spells with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. His creativity, technical ability and experience could bring something different to the Chiefs attack, particularly when facing defensively organised opponents.
For Da Cruz, potentially securing both players would represent a significant improvement in attacking depth and competition for places. Chiefs have been working towards building a squad capable of challenging consistently for major honours.
However, neither transfer should be considered completed until officially confirmed by the club. Nevertheless, the possibility of Mokwana and Lorch joining Amakhosi has generated considerable interest among supporters hoping to see the team make meaningful progress in the transfer market.
