Relebohile Mofokeng continued his impressive start at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise by recording his third assist of the season as the Belgian side defeated Hapoel Be’er Sheva 4-0 in the UEFA Europa League.

The emphatic victory secured Union SG their second win in the competition’s league phase and lifted them to fourth place in the standings, according to the supplied match report.

Mofokeng, the former Orlando Pirates attacker, has been building his reputation since moving to European football, with his latest contribution adding to an encouraging run of performances for his new club.

The South African has now registered three assists and four goals in 13 appearances for Union SG. Those numbers underline his growing contribution in attack as he continues adjusting to a different league and the demands of European competition.

His latest assist came in a match in which Union SG dominated Hapoel Be’er Sheva to claim a convincing four-goal victory. The result gave the Belgian outfit another important boost in their campaign and strengthened their position in the league-phase table.

For Mofokeng, the performance represents another step in his transition from South African football to the European stage. Having previously attracted attention during his time with Orlando Pirates, he is now gaining experience against continental opposition with Union SG.

The forward’s combination of goals and assists suggests he is contributing in more than one way, offering an attacking threat while also creating opportunities for teammates.

Union SG will be hoping to maintain their momentum as the Europa League campaign progresses, with every result potentially affecting their final position in the league phase.

Mofokeng, meanwhile, will be looking to build on his current tally and continue earning opportunities as he settles into life in Belgium.

His latest contribution gives South African football supporters another reason to follow his progress abroad, particularly as he looks to translate the promise he showed at Orlando Pirates into consistent performances in European competition.
