Red Arrows Coach Confident of Eliminating Kaizer Chiefs Ahead of Decisive Second Leg

Red Arrows head coach Chisi Mbewe has expressed confidence that his team will advance to the group stage of continental competition as they prepare for a crucial second-leg encounter against Kaizer Chiefs on Friday.

The Zambian club travels to Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg played in Ndola. Despite facing a determined Chiefs side on their home ground, Mbewe believes his players have what it takes to complete the job.

When asked to rate his confidence in Red Arrows' chances of progressing on a scale of one to ten, the coach gave his team an eight.

“I can assure you that this time around, Red Arrows is qualifying for the group stage. On a scale of one to ten? I would say eight out of ten,” Mbewe said.

The coach also suggested that his side could have taken a more comfortable lead into the return fixture, claiming they created enough scoring opportunities to find the net three times in the opening match.

Mbewe revealed that his players have been working on improving their finishing while remaining defensively organised ahead of the decisive encounter.

He expects Kaizer Chiefs to attack aggressively in their bid to overturn the deficit but insists Red Arrows must remain disciplined and take advantage of their opportunities.

“We know that Kaizer Chiefs will throw all their ammunition that they have just to try and find a goal. We need to utilise the chances and ensure that we don't allow them to score,” he added.

Chiefs must win by at least two goals to qualify without a penalty shootout. A 1-0 victory would level the aggregate score.

The decisive match is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 on Friday.
