Mandla Ncikazi Breaks Silence on Alleged Fallout With Abdeslam Ouaddou at Orlando Pirates

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has finally addressed reports surrounding his alleged fallout with head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou before his departure from the Soweto giants to join Golden Arrows.

Ncikazi spoke about the situation while responding to questions concerning his relationship with Ouaddou and the circumstances surrounding his exit from Orlando Pirates.

The experienced South African coach, however, refused to discuss the alleged disagreement in detail, explaining that he had no intention of speaking negatively about his former employer or revealing internal matters concerning the club.

According to Ncikazi, his age and professional experience have taught him the importance of respecting former employers, regardless of the circumstances surrounding his departure.

He explained that publicly discussing disagreements within a football club could damage the organisation and affect the working environment of those who remain there.

Ncikazi further pointed out that every football club has its own internal challenges, but he believes coaches have a responsibility to protect the institutions they work for rather than expose their internal affairs to the public.

The former Pirates assistant coach also suggested that discussing problems at his previous workplace could create difficulties for his current employers, which is another reason he prefers to remain silent.

Speaking about the matter, Ncikazi said:

“As a man of my age, you don’t talk ill about your former employer. Because you offend them. Equally the same, when I start talking about my former employer, I’m offending my current employer. Every house has got a toilet.

“As a man, you don’t have a responsibility of telling every family that there’s challenges in your family. Me, I’m just a man. Even if there was a problem, you are not going to know. Because I’m a man, I’ve got a responsibility to protect the environment that I work for. Irrespective of the environment. In every club that I’ve worked for, there are issues.

“But I don’t have a responsibility to publicly tell, as a coach, you are a CEO of the company. So, protect the environment. I’ve got no comment, I’ve got no issue to answer.”

Ncikazi’s comments come amid discussions about his departure from Orlando Pirates and the reported tension between him and Ouaddou.

His decision not to disclose details has left questions surrounding the alleged fallout unanswered, although he made it clear that he would rather protect his professional relationships than engage in public exchanges about his former club.

Meanwhile, his move to Golden Arrows marks another chapter in his coaching career, having previously worked with several South African clubs and established himself as an experienced figure in the country’s football coaching scene.
