Rassie names six rookies in squad for Nations Championship second leg

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has named six uncapped players in a 37-man squad for the second leg of the Nations Championship in November.

Flyhalf Yaqeen Ahmed, wing Sebastian de Klerk, utility back Luan Giliomee, centre Markus Muller, as well as lock Riley Norton and loose forward Emmanuel Tshituka, have all been involved in the Springbok set-up before, but are uncapped.

They will feature alongside a settled group of players in a squad that tops the Nations Championship Southern Hemisphere table following victories against England, Scotland, and Wales.

Injured players not considered include Cheslin Kolbe, Eben Etzebeth, Andre Esterhuizen, and Handre Pollard.

The Springboks’ first match is against Italy in Turin on the 07th of next month, followed by test matches against France and Ireland.
