Over two months after The 946 made its presence felt on WWE Raw, a new member has been added to the faction in its feud with The Bloodline.
The November 2 episode of WWE Raw saw Cruz Montana revealed as the latest member of The 946, with the now-former NXT star taking down Roman Reigns on his main roster debut.
Recently, Royce Keys gave insight into The 946, with additional indicators as to who is calling the shots when it comes to faction additions:
August 24 marked the first appearance of The 946, with Royce Keys leading Lucien Price and Bronco Nima in acts of aggression aimed at The Bloodline.
The fourth member of the faction would be revealed on the following month, with Jaida Parker being added, followed by Carmelo Hayes on October 12 and, most recently, Cruz Montana.
With an “ain’t nobody safe” mantra, the make-up of the faction is a broad church of WWE talent that could seemingly see unexpected expansion.
A recent Bleacher Report interview saw Keys address the constitution of The 946 and what the members bring to proceedings, saying:
“I knew everybody before we actually all got together. So, 946 is us. We’ve taken parts of how we grew up and where we’re from and put them together, so it’s something that’s authentic and real.
“We each bring something different. Melo’s a little pit bull. When I take that leash off him, it’s dangerous. And Jaida, she hits harder than some of the dudes.
“I always say it’s like a pot of gumbo. You’ve got all these different flavors and mixtures in it, so it’s gonna be hard for our opponents to adapt to it.”
The comments were made before the inclusion of Montana, who brings his own brand of viciousness to the faction and is obviously an ideal fit.
Clearly, WWE creative have faith in The 946, with Keys noting their prominence on WWE Raw puts them in the spotlight, stating:
“Those are prime-time spots. So, for us to be in those spots consistently, week after week, it means something. It’s not by mistake.”
There’s a likelihood that Roman Reigns has a say in who The Bloodline works with, particularly with his standing as World Heavyweight Champion, let alone his tenure and seniority as a WWE star.
When it comes to the make-up of The 946, False Finish has suggested that the leader may be calling the shots, with a post on X stating:
“Another Royce Keys decision.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise if this were the case, with Keys having a degree of input into who should be part of the faction, although the final decision no doubt comes down to WWE creative.
When it comes to The 946, a newly formed faction targeting The Bloodline could have been a difficult sell for the fans, yet it has been delivered with superb execution.
While The Vision and Judgment Day may have been around for longer, neither really poses the same threat as The 946, with Royce Keys leading a feral faction.
There could have been a rapid drop-off following the debut, with WWE creative not really grasping what they’ve got and focusing just on Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship, but The 946 have proved to be an attraction and the biggest threat that The Bloodline has faced in a long time.
With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching and the men’s match seemingly gearing up for The Bloodline vs. The 946, the rest of November could be a dangerous time for Reigns and his family.
