PBKS may approach LSG for a player trade ahead of the IPL 2027 auction.

Marcus Stoinis & Mohsin Khan likely to be swapped ahead of IPL 2027 auction - Reports

Hardik Pandya has become a topic of discussion among fans for a possible trade between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2027. PBKS are reportedly in talks with MI to trade Hardik for India’s leading T20I wicket-taker, Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod.

If this happens, it will be a historic deal. However, it will also strengthen PBKS’ core. Meanwhile, PBKS will need to find a strong alternative for Arshdeep, who currently leads their bowling attack.

That is where the franchise can look for another possible player swap. The franchise can approach Lucknow Super Giants to acquire left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan. According to a Sportstar report, PBKS may contact LSG to sign Mohsin, swapping him with Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

Mohsin has been part of LSG since his IPL debut in 2022. He has taken 38 wickets in 31 matches. Stoinis played for LSG from 2022 to 2024 and joined PBKS for his second stint in 2025. He could return to LSG if the deals get cracked.

PBKS eye the historic trade involving Hardik Pandya – Reports

The last date to submit the retention list is on November 17, 2026. Before that, the trade window will stay open one week ahead of the mini auction. Notably, the event is all set to be held on December 16 in Goa.

So far, only two trades have been executed. Rishabh Pant returned to his former franchise, Delhi Capitals, whereas Kuldeep Yadav has moved to LSG. The second trade also involved DC; the franchise swapped T. Natarajan with SRH’s Zeeshan Ansari.

Hardik was traded to MI from GT in 2024, and now he might join PBKS. If it happens, then Stoinis’ role will be reduced. Hence, PBKS can replace him, and Mohsin’s entry will also fill Arshdeep’s spot.

IPL 2027 is likely to begin on March 10. Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the last edition, and they will defend their title.

When will the IPL 2027 auction take place?
